Privacy Policy for Fi50

Effective Date: January 2, 2026

At Fi50, we believe that your data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy outlines how the Fi50: PDF & Image Tools Chrome Extension handles information. Our primary goal is to provide a powerful set of document and image tools while maintaining the highest level of user privacy.

1. Zero Data Collection Architecture

The defining feature of the Fi50 extension is its local-first architecture.

No File Uploads

All PDF conversions, image resizing, merging, and scanning are performed entirely within your web browser. Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers.

No Tracking

We do not track your browsing history, the websites you visit, or how you use the extension.

No Personal Information

We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any other form of personally identifiable information (PII).

2. How Your Data is Processed

When you use a tool within the Fi50 sidebar:

  • Local Loading: You select a file from your device.
  • Browser Processing: The extension uses client-side JavaScript libraries to process the data in your browser's memory.
  • Local Download: The finished file is generated locally and prompted for download to your device.
  • Memory Clearing: As soon as you close the extension or refresh the tab, temporary data is cleared.

3. Usage of Chrome Permissions

PermissionPurpose
activeTabUsed to inject the Fi50 sidebar into your current page when you request it.
sidePanelUsed to provide a persistent and non-intrusive UI on the right side of your screen.
storageUsed exclusively to save UI preferences like sidebar pinning.

4. Third-Party Libraries

Fi50 uses several open-source libraries (e.g., jsPDF, Cropper.js). These libraries are bundled locally within the extension package and do not make any external network requests while processing your files.

6. Children’s Privacy

Since we do not collect any data, our extension is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly or unknowingly collect information from children.
